The National Stadium (Bird's Nest) is located in the southern part of Beijing Olympic Park, and it’s the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The National Aquatics Center, also known as the "Water Cube," is located in the Beijing Olympic Park. It is the main swimming pool built for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and is also one of the landmark buildings of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Its design plan is the "Water Cube" ([H2O]3) program produced by the global design competition. It lists on with the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) on both sides of the north end of Beiing’s central axis, together forming a relatively complete image of Beijing's historical and cultural city.
The Beijing Workers' Gymnasium is located at Sanlitun Workers Stadium North Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It was built for the 26th World Table Tennis Championships in April 1961. It was also the first gymnasium to appear on stamps in New China. As a venue for sports events and performing arts, the Beijing Workers' Gymnasium has already hosted thousands of activities and has become an important entertainment and sports center in Beijing.
It’s the venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games basketball program. The building area is 63,000 square meters. It is divided into the competition layer (where the venue is located), the first floor, the box compartment and the third floor. It can accommodate 18,000 spectators.
It undertakes baseball events at the Beijing Olympics. The baseball stadium was completed on August 14, 2007. It includes two playing fields and a training ground. There are 15,000 seats and a total floor area of approximately 14,000 square meters. Its cultural sports and public service facilities include indoor swimming pools, cinemas, banks, post offices, and shopping malls. It is an important supporting facility for providing services to surrounding residents.
It’s one of the 11 renovation and expansion venues of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. During the Olympic Games, it will take on six events, such as two-way, multi direction and double multi direction of the male and female flying saucers.
